COVERS & OTHER ORIGINAL WORK

Officially, I’ve released other work.  Some, way after the fact of recording and one with the intent of a commercial release under the helm of a different writer and producer.  My original material was written and produced years before and has been through multiple knock-off processed remixes that it is nowhere near the original mix of the song and therefore, the quality has suffered greatly.  But I have never tackled something of the magnitude of what I envision with “Worth The Wait”, especially on my own and especially without a producer or major label backing.

Below,  I’m presenting re-mastered recordings of “Covered Up”, a collection of cover material I recorded at home basically as a “bootleg edition CD project” in 2007 & 2008 while recovering from a period of illness, using music as a period of healing and recuperation.  The song choices are especially personal and while the instrumentation is hit-single recreation, there’s hopefully enough vocal spin on it that is enough “me” to give you an idea of what I am vocally.  Click the “Remastered” cover below to go to the albums page on my music website.

I will also be releasing Mastered versions of my other original material here and label website, the few songs that are available.  For now you can still buy the existing mixes on iTunes.

I hope you will enjoy these.

OTHER RECORDINGS:

DON’T YOU WANT MY LOVE ANYMORE?

This song has a great history to it – it was written and produced by Steven Stephenson, a really great dance music producer who also lived in Austin.  He & I met online through myspace and decided to work on a song together.  He sent the music online, I recorded vocals and then sent them back to him, and he did an OUTSTANDING job mixing the song down.  It actually became my first “official” single release and has been on Spotify and iTunes as well as other outlets for some time.  It can also be heard on Reverbnation.

This song was written starting in about 1987 on a very small keyboard with just the hook and then the bass started coming to me, and over about 5 years it came together.  In the early 90’s my friend Glenn Lukin helped me record the entire thing at his home and this was a live performance to the track he’d helped create.  Fantastic work on his end.  Remastered here, and available both on Spotify & iTunes.

justforyou

Probably the tune I feel the most “proud” of in some ways up to the “Covered Up” sessions, anyway, in terms of what I’d done in terms of a songwriter.  This is all me, in terms of writing.  The song was actually recorded at Nightingale Studios in Nashville and produced by Pat McGrath in 1992.  It’s hard to believe that it’s been that long.  They also recorded a very scaled down version of “My Song For You” that I was very unhappy with.  I will not be re-releasing that.  But this song lent itself to a country version.  This is the only place the Nashville version can be heard.  The original recording is available on Spotify & iTunes.

WITH LOVE

I’d love to re-do this one…..I’ve always just really enjoyed the tune.  It is in need of remixing, remastering and a few punch-ins.  However, it is available also on Spotify and iTunes.

I'd love to hear from you...
